We honor the Memory of Papa Skkejgestad Guitorm
Papa Skejeggestad Guitorm and Mama Liv Toril Skjeggestad’s influence has affected many lives. From Norway they came to the DRC and then to Kenya where they worked to help find sponsors for Grace and her siblings so they could go to school. Grace’s family had become refugees after fleeing their homeland. They were struggling to make a new life for themselves in a new country. School in Africa is not free and so education was not an option until Papa Skejeggestad Guitorm and Mama Liv Toril Skjeggestad advocated for their education by getting sponsors for Grace and each of her siblings.
Dr. Grace said, “Their support towards my family means a lot to me. If it wasn't for them sponsoring my basic education or elementary and high school, I wouldn't have been able to access higher education! Their gift of education has fueled me to become a change maker, and advocate for the well being of vulnerable girls in Africa through education. Papa Skkejgestad Guitorm's legacy will live forever. Good deeds never die, and they continue from generation to generation. He used to remind every person to care for the children first! As founder of AGHF, I firmly believe that God will use AGHF to change the lives of thousands of young girls, so that they also can change the lives of their families and communities! This is the circle of good deeds! “
