We are Celebrating... 3 New Board Members!

We are thrilled to be sharing this announcement. It means 2 things have happened.

First of all, we are growing! Second, if we are growing that means more girls are going to school every single day – which is true! And that calls for a celebration!

We are here to celebrate the addition of 3 amazing people to our AGHF team! Yayyy!! 3 people who want to be part of the support for the girls of AGHF. We are honored they would take their valuable time and energy and join with us as we stand together supporting orphan and refugee girls’ education in Africa! This is a great work! Every girl matters!

We are pleased to present to you three incredible individuals!

Her husband is a firefighter. Sarah tells us she has a blended family with four daughters from ages 12 to 18, two labrador retrievers, and 11 pet chickens. In Sarah’s free time, she loves spending time with her family, solo trips with her husband, cheering on the Tennessee Vols, riding her electric bike, and reading.

Meet Richard Bishop

Richard grew up in Lilburn, GA and went to college to study music, concentration in piano performance, at LSU. After college he worked as an analyst at Hewitt Associates where he met his soul mate, Amanda, and they married in 2004. Richard and Amanda have three wonderful daughters: Claire, Paige and Grace. In his spare time Richard enjoys playing the piano, boating, traveling and spending time with his family. Richard is currently in software sales focusing on financial institutions.

New Member Amanda Bishop

Meet Amanda Bishop

Amanda celebrates her 20th year married to Richard. She stays home to care for their daughters, Claire, Paige and Grace. The family enjoys traveling and they all play tennis.

Amanda likes watching piano performances by Richard and the girls. She enjoys quiet time outside and reading a good book at bedtime.

Amanda and Claire met AGHF Founder, Grace, when serving in Grace's daughter’s preschool class. Amanda felt spiritually connected to Grace and later invited her to a women’s Community Bible Study class. As she learned more about AGHF, her family decided to be a part of the awesome work God is doing within the lives of the beautiful girls of AGHF.

AGHF resonates with Amanda through her family and educational background. Amanda grew up in a small, rural town in Alabama. She is the youngest of seven children in a blended family who attended church regularly. Following her mother’s footsteps, she enjoyed performing in church choir and high school choir. When Amanda was 16, her mother passed away from cancer. With the support of family and the community, Amanda graduated high school as valedictorian and senior class president. Gratefully, she received financial assistance and scholarships to the University of Alabama, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in finance, minor in economics.

Her first job in Atlanta was with a human resource outsourcing company, where God gave her Richard. The company paid for graduate school tuition, encouraging her to earn a Master of Business Administration from Georgia State University.

Her dad passed away unexpectedly one week after her first date with Richard. Their bond strengthened as she learned about Richard’s dad suddenly passing away five years earlier. After Claire was born, she worked part-time at North Point Ministries, deciding to stay home after Paige was born. Three years later, baby Grace was born and their family became complete.

With three beautiful daughters and the perspective of losing parents then receiving educational assistance, the mission of AGHF connects to her soul. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
