African Youth Connect Conference, Austin Texas 2024
African Girls Hope Foundation not only empowers girls in Africa, but also reaches out to support those who have come to the United States of America. Dr. Grace is active in her support through conferences, workshops and many speaking engagements.
The African Youth Connect Conference is a large and important opportunity to reach out. This 2024 conference turned out to be a huge success! It was incredibly educational and an amazing chance for African youth all over the US to connect with each other! Positive peer influence is a proven success factor in helping youth in all countries to grow and develop in safe, educational, moral and progressive environments.
This conference was the biggest turn out so far, with youth coming from 6 cities in Texas and from 5 different states.
Throughout the day the youth learned from 3 different speakers and participated in educational follow up Q&A sessions.
Dr. Grace Faraja was one of the 3 speakers during the conference.
Each of the speakers spoke to the youth about the 3 main topics:
Education
Career Path
Integration
This conference was full of opportunities for the youth to see, hear and experience many powerful mentorship moments. It was definitely instrumental in providing African youth living in America with trusted mentors they can turn to with difficult questions that arise when trying to navigate a new country and culture. This conference gave the youth resources to many of the ways they need help as new immigrants.
