Myth #1

A female’s value is giving birth to children and caring for them and their father through cooking and cleaning.

TRUTH #1

A female’s value lies within herself.

She is valuable because she is a unique individual with boundless potential. As she experiences life, and gathers knowledge through her school years, her value stays the same, but her ability to face life, experience hope and joy, and then influence those around her for good, grows.

Myth #2

Girls marry after they become an adult.

Truth #2

In the African countries we serve,

many girls who drop out of school end up marrying before their 18th birthday.

Some are as young as 14 or 15 years old.

Myth #3

Lack of period products does not affect a girl’s ability to go to school.

Truth #3

Lack of Period Products can easily stop girls from going to school!

When girls lack period products they do not attend school.

When girls are told they are unclean because of their period they do not go to school.

It is vital that these girls have the products AND the knowledge of their menstrual cycles to understand it is natural and normal to attend school during their cycle. They are clean.
